Last year around this time, a beautiful couple chose a November elopement in Budapest to capture the romantic chill of late autumn in the city. At first, I was surprised that couples are opting to elope to my beloved city in the colder months, but now I see what the beauty in it is. Let me show you how an elopement in Budapest in the month of November can look!

Late autumn elopement Budapest
Despite being end of November, our elopement day started off with amazing sunshine in Budapest. Their hotel was on the river side, so we first started off taking some photographs close to it, enjoying the autumn sun.

This couple from the US also was eager to see the Parliament Building which provides an amazing photo backdrop for eloping couples: with its endless gothic facade, you really cannot help but let out a few sighs.

One huge upside of autumn and winter elopements in Budapest is that the sunshine is always pretty. The sun doesn't go up so much, so the light falls in a much more flattening angle all day long. I love this. Look how much I can play with the light :) I love to put the sunshine in my eloping client's kiss, oh yeah.
Vow exchange ceremony in November in Budapest
We had a lot of talks about where to do the public ceremony. Budapest has literally endless historical amazing backdrops for your elopement but it is not so easy to find one without too many people and cars. I have my favourite list of suggestions for the Budapest Vow Exchange locations but I am always up for a challenge to find some new spots according to client's preferences.

They loved it and they also loved the elopement celebrant I found them. I always take care to pick a celebrant who matches the vibe of the couple, to whom I think they can relate most.

Evening and night time elopepement photos in November
Dark hits fast on November days in Budapest. An upside to this is that we do not need to wait long to see the magical Budapest lights come out. After the ceremony, we hopped into our car with driver and went to some further locations to enjoy the views and take some more photos.

How to ge dressed for a Budapest elopement in November?
Budapest has been warming up drastically the past 10-15 years, so there is a good chance to have a Mediterranean kind of winter day on your elopement here in autumn or winter. What do I mean by this? Well, if the sun is shining, it can feel quite warm, sometimes even 20 degrees Celsius. However, it can get also gloomy and rainy and cold, with wind. Snow and below 0 degress are getting rarer and rarer.
So best is to have some thick underwear, leggings, thermal base layers, socks and alike. For the brides a nice white fur shrug can really help you to cover your chest and still stay elegant like a real winter princess.
It is also good to have some good quality coat/jacket and maybe wool pullover at hand in the backpack.
Don't worry, if it gets too cold, we can just do endless Hot Wine or Coffee stops on your Budapest elopement :)
